6th Form Works Hard... VERY Hard... But they have lotssss of fun!!!

These past days we worked on many different things... Since we are reading Romeo & Juliet, we played Chain Storytelling to revise the chapters read so far...
Kids get to choose who continues the story using the ball! Who says retelling has to be boring?

We also played in groups! Kids were divided into 3 teams to answer a Trivia Quiz about Shakespeare and Victorian Times!

Last but not least... to practise past participle verbs we played Queen & King of Verbs! The winners took home a congratulations card and sweets!

Lost On a Deserted Island!!!

Last Monday we played Lost on a Deserted Island! Each kid had to choose one, and only one, object to take to a deserted island. After explaining their choice, the kids were divided in groups and had to create a special device that would take them home.... They had to include all the objects chosen by the members of the group!

Let´s take a look at their creations!

The girls invented a device using a map, a camera, matches and a cell phone!

This group included a guitar and a bike!

They designed a super boat full of commodities!

English Tea Party 2015

Today we enjoyed our Annual English Tea Party!

During last week, 6th Form worked on different aspects of the English culture: Location, Name, Flag, Traditions, Tea Time, and their Coat of Arms...

That was our special topic for this ocassion: The Official Coat of Arms of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

We discussed its different parts and meaning, and the kids explained to the rest of the school what we had studied days before.

The second part of our show was very special! The kids created their own Coat of Arms! It was a really nice experience as a group, since they were able to share, to give their opinions, to coordinate different ideas and to be very creative! You will find below, some pics and its explanation! We hope you like it!

6th Form Official Coat of Arms

Quadrant 1:
Argentina´s flag, because it represents us as a country.

Quadrant 2:
The forest, because it is the main habitat for both, the leopard and the panda.

Quadrant 3:
Red and green quadrant with a G musical key, because we like music and those colours.

Quadrant 4:
Orange and violet: The colours of our school; and the light bulb because we have lots of ideas.

Panda Bear:
Because they are cute like us.

Leopard:
Because they are fast, we like their fur, and they are fierce.

Octopus:
Because they have lots of arms and they can do many things at the same time.

Angel:
Because we are nice, friendly and sweet most of the time.

Devil:
Because we can sometimes get a bit naughty.

Motto:
We believe in the power of imagination to create new things, and to know and learn all the time.

P.S: They all took home a decorated paper Tea Pot and some flavoured Tea Bags!

Great job 6th Form!!!! You make me feel sooooo proud and happy!!!!

Let´s act!

In order to expand our "food and drink" vocabulary, we have made fake food and drinks!

Then, we learned how to say those types of food and drinks in English.
Later on, we had to create a dialogue in groups using the food and drinks vocabulary.
Once our dialogues were ready, we acted them out!
In this short clip, you´ll be able to peep inside our classroom and watch part of the dialogues kids have created. Enjoy!

Second form goes to the theatre!

Last Wednesday second form went to the theatre to watch Goldie Pop and the three bears! It was a wonderful musical play!

We sang, danced and had fun during the play...

We've also been doing activities related to the characters and the story the whole week, like role plays, songs and worksheets.

We learned new vocabulary and had fun at the same time. What a great week!

We'll keep on learning!

We wrote together the letter to our Italian penfriends! Here it goes!:

Wednesday, 8th April

Dear pen friends,

Thank you for your letter! We have just started 6th form and we are getting ready to take the KET exam.
Thank you for your wishes! We ate a lot of Easter eggs and chocolate, what about you?

How about your winter holidays? Do you play any special sport during the winter? Which are your favourite sports?

This year we are working on an annual project called “Lights, camera and action”.  Through this project we learn pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, history, etc by watching films. Do you have any English Annual Project at your school?

We look forward to hearing from you soon!
With love,

Dress up Game - Second Form

Last week second form played a Dress up Game in which they had to wear costumes,  think of a name and a character and introduce themselves. They said "Hi! My name is... What's your name?"

The girls chose to wear hats, clothes and accesories. The boys chose masks, hats, glasses and swords to dress up as superheroes, pirates or clowns.

These are the pictures we took after the game:

We had a lot of fun and, at the same time, learned how to ask each other's names and introduce ourselves.

Great job kids!
